Toorak c. 1950s - is about posh dresses and accents, drinks in the afternoon and tennis matches at Kooyong. It is also about love and adultery, secrets and sexism, love lost and love found. It is about people finding love during World War II only to lose it in great mansions with 'grounds' in Toorak. Andrew Joseph’s play deals with love, loyalty and conflict across two generations. The Catholic/Protestant divide and emerging feminism in the Menzies era.
